Police: Troy man had illegal gun, cocaine

TROY – A Troy man is facing charges for allegedly having an illegal handgun and cocaine.

Police said patrol officers interviewed Nijiquaan Y. Stroud in the area of 2nd Avenue and 115th Street in Lansingburgh. During that investigation, they determined that the defendant possessed an illegal .22 caliber handgun as well as a quantity of individually packaged cocaine.

Stroud was arraigned in Troy City Court on charges of criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and obstructing governmental administration.

He was sent to Rensselaer County Jail where he then posted bail and was released.
