Police: Washington County woman embezzled from Vermont car dealerships

A Washington County woman is accused of embezzling about $130,000 while she worked at two Vermont car dealerships.
Madison Carrig, 29, of Whitehall, allegedly took money from the Oliver Subaru in Rutland, Vermont State Police said. That resulted in the dealership losing about $120,000. Carrig was charged with 17 counts of embezzlement and one count of credit card fraud.
Troopers also learned that Carrig had previously been employed at Lundgren Audi, Volkswagen, Dodge Ram of Rutland. She stole about $10,000 from that employer, police said.
Carrig is scheduled to be arraigned on April 1 in Rutland Superior Criminal Court.
