Police: Whitehall sex offender didn’t register internet accounts

A 26-year-old Washington County sex offender has been arrested after police said he failed to register internet accounts as required.

Lloyd A. Watkins, of Whitehall, was charged with a sex offender registry violation. Watkins was currently in jail at the time of his arrest on a parole violation, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

He was arraigned in Washington County Centralized Arraignment Court. Watkins is scheduled to be in Hampton Town Court at a later date.

Watkins is a Level 3 sex offender, which is classified as the highest risk for reoffending, according to the sex offender database. He was convicted in October 2016 of first-degree sexual abuse for raping a 15-year-old girl.

Watkins was sentenced to 6 years in prison and released in November 2021, according to the state inmate database.
