A 95-year-old man from Queensbury who saw combat in the Korean War, and until recently was still walking the course as he golfed, has passed away.

John “Ted” Brothers was a former collegiate wrestler and civil engineer. Brothers served in Korea and participated in heavy combat. When he returned from war, he got his Ph.D. in theology and married the love of his life.

NewsChannel 13 profiled Brothers in 2020 when he was 92. He didn’t use a cart as he played Top of the World golf course overlooking Lake George.

He kept swimming in Lake George up until recently too. He told NewsChannel 13 in 2020 that after a round of golf, he enjoyed oysters and a cold glass of wine.

Ted Brothers was buried Thursday at Saratoga National Cemetery.
