Rabid fox bites three people in Valley Falls

Three people in Rensselaer County are recovering from rabid fox bites.
The Department of Environmental Conservation told NewsChannel 13 two children and an elderly woman were bitten by a rabid fox in a mobile home community in Valley Falls.
While responding to a call about the fox, an officer said he saw it coming out of the woods.
The fox growled loudly and lunged at him, the officer said.
The fox was killed before anyone else was hurt.
The three bite victims were treated at Albany Medical Center – including one who needed eight stitches.
