Race for Saratoga Springs council seat shifts to courtroom

The race for Public Works commissioner in Saratoga Springs shifted to the courtroom on Friday.
Republican Chuck Marshall and Democrat Hank Kuczynski were separated by just 29 votes after ballots were counted on Election Night.
Election commissioners disagree on whether ballots were filled in properly and should be validated.
When they cannot come to a resolution, it goes to a judge.
Both parties were in Saratoga County Court to make their case.
The balance of power is at stake on the council. Huczynski, a Democrat, was appointed to the seat to make up a 3-2 majority.
The lawyers must submit briefs to the judge by Monday at noon. A ruling will be issued sometime next week.
