The Red Cross is now helping three people displaced in a house fire on Callahan Avenue in Watervliet, as the cause remains under investigation.

The large fire broke out Thursday at a two-family home.

Fire officials at the scene told NewsChannel 13 a woman was sleeping on the second floor when the fire happened, and was woken up by police.

There were also two people home on the first floor.

No one was injured, but the woman who lives on the first floor was still looking for her cat.

She says despite losing everything in this fire on Thanksgiving morning, she’s just grateful to be alive.
