TROY – The Red Cross says they are helping more than 30 people, after a large fire at Valley Green Apartments in Troy, Friday night.

Two children and 31 adults will now have to find new homes. Many of those adults are attending college nearby at Hudson Valley Community College.

The roof partially collapsed on the apartment building.

Troy’s fire chief says there’s a lot of fire and smoke damage, but he doesn’t think the building will need to come down.

The owner says in a Facebook post that 41 apartments were lost.
