Regional Food Bank in Latham receives new freight farm

The Regional Food Bank in Latham has received a new freight farm from Broadview Federal Credit Union.
It’s expected to provide the food bank with up to 900 heads of lettuce and other leafy greens year-round.
The freight farm will help the food bank expand newer programs like mobile pantries, which help deliver food to parts of the area that lack brick and mortar stores.
The food bank is also hoping to build on their “Just In Time” deliveries program, which helps pantries distribute perishable foods like produce and dairy.
