Election reform passed last spring in Massachusetts has now come into effect.

At the Registry of Motor Vehicles, forms will no longer include the “opt out” option for becoming a registered voter.

This means that information to start the registration process will automatically be forwarded to the Secretary of State’s Office.

Customers can still opt out. They can choose to decline to be registered when they receive notices from their local city or town election offices.
