The Rensselaer County Toy Drive kicked off Friday morning.

County Executive Steve McLaughlin and other officials were on hand for the kickoff in East Greenbush.

“It’s about the kids. It’s about making their lives and their day special. So it’s just a nice thing to do, and I think everybody that participates feels good about it,” he said. “Our local businesses that step up and help out feel good about it. It’s just, to me, a no-brainer. You want to make sure you can do what you can to help out.”  

Donations will be accepted in drop boxes all across the county until Dec. 20.
