Rensselaer man pleads guilty to first-degree manslaughter

Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced on Friday that Jahteek Sanchez, Rensselaer, pled guilty to first-degree manslaughter.

His plea was with the understanding that he will receive a state prison sentence between 22 and 25 years, which would be followed by a 5-year period of post-release supervision.

Authorities say Sanchez was indicted for causing the death of Alexander Crawford on July 2, 2023.

Crawford was shot at the Family Dollar in North Troy.

Sanchez will be sentenced on July 12.
