The future of the South End Grocery Store in Albany is in question after three different lenders indicated they have defaulted on their loans.

This doesn’t mean the store is immediately closing.

The three lenders had given South End Grocery hundreds of thousands of dollars to help transform an old McDonald’s into one of the few places in the South End offering fresh food.

The store has not made payments to at least one of its vendors since February.
