Report: Driver was looking at his phone before deadly Pittsfield crash

The driver of a deadly September crash in Pittsfield said he was looking up directions to a dog park on his phone when he hit the other car, NewsChannel 13’s media partners at the Berkshire Eagle reported.

Alexander Kight failed to stop at a stop sign when the crash happened back in September.

The driver in the other car, Louis Marcel, 81, died 10 days later in the hospital.

Kight told police he couldn’t see the stop sign because it was blocked by two utility poles. He later admitted to looking at his phone, investigators said.
