Local sales tax collections grew again this month.

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli’s office released a report on Thursday, revealing sales tax collections are 1.5% higher than this same month in 2022.

Local collections statewide totaled $1.74 billion overall. That’s nearly $26 million more than the same time last year.

This is a good sign, because sales taxes raise revenue for state and local governments.
