A man running to be the next mayor of Schenectady is announcing a big end-of-year announcement.

Schenectady Republican Committee Chairman Matt Nelligan posting on social media he’ll be leaving state service at the end of this month and launching a new business.
He’ll be the President and CEO of Syndicate Strategies, where he’ll be working in a range of services, including crisis and corporate communications, and policy management.
He says he’s loved his time in the New York State Senate, but it’s time to move on.
He says his plans to run for mayor against current Schenectady Mayor, Gary McCarthy still stand.
