The resignation of New York State Police Superintendent Kevin Bruen took effect Wednesday.
This comes in response to Bruen’s close working relationship with MaryEllen Tedesco. She was in charge of human resources.
When she came under fire following numerous complaints, it was Bruen’s job to discipline her, if necessary. That didn’t happen, which apparently triggered the investigation of Bruen.
First Deputy Superintendent Steven Nigrelli will become acting superintendent.
