Albany County is helping to raise awareness about heart health in honor American Heart Month with a new reusable bag.

The bag features a design by 12-year-old Aedan Conway, of Delmar, who was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome. That means that half of his heart didn’t develop.

He has had three open-heart surgeries – the first of which when he was just a few days old.

Now in sixth grade, Aedan skis, plays baseball and is part of the Empire State Youth Orchestra Chamber Percussion Ensemble.
