An annual event that raises thousands of dollars to help firefighters and their families who are battling cancer is being held Saturday in Schenectady.

More than 600 runners are expected to take park in the annual ‘Run 4 Your Life’ race in Central Park as well.

This is the 15th year and there are big changes, including a new logo, a new awareness campaign, and new race day presentations.

 
For the first time ever, runners who place in the top 5 will receive gift cards to Dick’s Sporting Goods as well as their trophies.

Each year, the funds raised from this event go directly to providing preventative screenings, protective equipment, and financial support to firefighters affected by cancer.
