Saratoga County woman overcomes rough life in Tanzania
Sometimes in life, it's going so badly for you. It looks like things will never turn around. However, a local woman – despite her life unfolding that way – vowed to change it.
Tahera Offord had a rough start in life in her native Tanzania.
Offord calls her father “The Bernie Madoff of Tanzania.”
She says his embezzlement caused her family shame and for 10 years, they were threatened.
However, after coming to New York, it began to change.
Now her message is don’t give up.
