Saratoga Springs athletic report delayed
The report investigating allegations of an abusive culture in Saratoga Springs athletics is not yet complete.
The district had hired the Harris Beach law firm to investigate claims from a group of former athletes and parents who said that coaches had forced students to push through pain and demeaned them.
NewsChannel 13 had reported last week that the Harris Beach law firm had finished its investigation and turned its report over to the district.
However, Saratoga Springs City School District Superintendent Michael Patton said at Thursday’s Board of Education meeting that the district received a preliminary report.
“This report is currently incomplete and the attorneys from Harris Beach have requested additional information from the district to complete and finalize this report,” he told the board.
“The school district anticipates receiving the final report sometime within the next two weeks and we will be releasing the report to the public once it is received and I will be presenting the district’s plan for moving forward based on what we learn from the report at a subsequent Board of Education meeting,” he went on to say.
Patton said he could not share any further information.
