Saratoga Springs teachers, Giving Circle help family rebuild home

The mobile home in Saratoga Springs where Jennifer Hemphill and her two daughters live caught fire on Oct. 16. The family had no insurance and nowhere to turn.

Luckily, nobody was hurt, but all the furniture was ruined. The home was still standing, but without insurance, they couldn’t rebuild and had to stay in a hotel.

Then some caring teachers in a local nonprofit learned of their situation. One of her daughter’s teachers asked who was helping them and she said nobody was.

That’s when dozens of teachers led by the Giving Circle nonprofit volunteered to fix the home in time for Christmas.
