Saratoga Springs teen keeps positive attitude while battling leukemia

A Saratoga Springs teenager is inspiring others with her positive attitude as she battles leukemia. Just as she was finishing up her senior year at Saratoga Springs High School, doctors told Olivia Allen she had high-risk leukemia. The doctors first thought it was mono.

A Saratoga Springs teenager is inspiring others with her positive attitude as she battles leukemia.

Just as she was finishing up her senior year at Saratoga Springs High School, doctors told Olivia Allen she had high-risk leukemia. The doctors first thought it was mono.

Olivia also suffered a stroke which paralyzed her entire right side and caused seizures. The stand-out gymnast was in the pediatric intensive care unit for two and a half weeks. Doctors told her parents that she might not make it.

However, she’s fought with a smile each step of the way. She’s enjoying her treatment time and her friends that she’s made at The Melodies Center at Albany Med.
