Scare involving fake gun puts Glens Falls schools in lockdown

Glens Falls Middle and High schools were placed in lockdown this morning after what was believed to be a real gun fell from a student’s backpack in a busy hallway of the middle school.

It happened as kids were transitioning from one class to the next.

It turns out it was a toy replica of a handgun, but the school resource officer rushed to the hallway and Glens Falls Police raced to the school.

Police tell us that no one was threatened, but the 11-year-old who brought it to school is being questioned.
