Schenectady child says man approached them, police investigating
Schenectady Police are investigating a report of a child being approached by a man near Van Corlaer Elementary School on Thursday morning.
Police community engagement officers responded to the school at around 7:45 a.m. for a report of a student saying that a male driving in the area had asked her questions that had made her uncomfortable, police said. She went inside and told staff, who immediately contacted officers.
Officers have located the person and detectives from the department’s Youth Aid Bureau are speaking with him.
Police have not received any similar reports.
