Schenectady man gets 25 years for luring girls into making explicit videos

A Schenectady man was sentenced on Thursday to 25 years in prison for getting teen girls to send him sexually explicit videos.

Thomas Ullman, 47, previously admitted in federal court to using the internet to access a teen dating website. He pretended to be a teenage boy and persuaded girls to communicate with him through video chat and messaging and send him explicit videos, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

The victims were as young as 13 years old, prosecutors said.

Ullman also must serve 15 years of post-release supervision and pay $5,000 in restitution to a victim. He will be required to register as a sex offender when he was released.

The case was investigated by the Rotterdam Police Department and FBI Violent Crimes Against Children Task Force.
