Schenectady man sentenced for leaving scene of fatal Ballston crash

The Schenectady man who left the scene of a fatal crash in Ballston in November was sentenced Wednesday to 1 1/3 to 4 years in prison. 

Gary A. Lucas, 38, was driving to work on Nov. 15 just before 5:45 a.m., when he struck Meredith Hamilton near the Valero gas station at the intersection of Route 50 and Brookline Road.

Hamilton was heading to work at the gas station.

Lucas did not stop or report the crash, but kept going on his way to work. It was caught on security video.
