Schenectady man who corrected police on how much meth he possessed pleads guilty
A Schenectady man has pleaded guilty to possessing methamphetamine.
Ocyris Morgan, 36, admitted in U.S. District Court that he intended to sell 21.4 grams of meth that police seized from his house. When he overheard agents said they found between one-half and one ounce of meth, Morgan corrected them, saying “21.7 to be exact,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Morgan also told the court that he received over $10,000 from 12 sales of 93 grams of methamphetamine total as well as 50 grams of cocaine base. He also possessed a gun and a bulletproof vest.
Morgan faces at least five years in prison and up to 40 years and a fine of up to $5 million when sentenced.
He also faces possible post-release supervision ranging from four years to the rest of his life.
