Schenectady Police investigating a car-pedestrian crash

Schenectady Police are investigating a car crash involving a pedestrian who is now in critical condition.

Officers were in the area of State and Hulett Streets around 8:15 p.m. Saturday, where they witnessed the accident.

The pedestrian was treated on scene by Schenectady Fire Department Paramedics and transported to Albany Medical Center for additional treatment, said Schenectady Police.

Authorities say the driver of the vehicle cooperated with police, but was found to have a suspended license and was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation.

Schenectady Police say the cause of the crash remains under investigation and further details will be released when they are available.
