The Schenectady City School District is considering switching from number-based grading to letter-based grades.

The Board of Education is nearing a vote on the proposal to revamp the report cards, which would also include teacher comments on the students’ performance. The new system would not factor in attendance and whether work was turned in on time.

If approved, the new report cards would go into effect this school year.
