Schenectady school buses to get stop arm cameras

The Schenectady City School District is launching a program to equip its buses with cameras to detect drivers who illegally pass the vehicles.

The district announced a partnership with BusPatrol to install stop-arm cameras to detect the license plates of drivers that pass buses.

Several other school district also announced plans for similar cameras, including East Greenbush, South Colonie, North Colonie, Bethlehem and Rensselaer.
