Schenectady woman, 100, celebrates ’25th birthday’ on Leap Day

Ada Pitcher was born on Feb. 29, 1924. She's only been able to celebrate her actual birthday 25 times.

Ada Pitcher was born in Colorado on Feb. 29, 1924.

She later moved to Guilderland and worked at GE in Schenectady for many years.

She now lives in a Schenectady nursing home.

Pitcher celebrated her 100th birthday on Thursday – something she’s only been able to do 25 times over the last century.
