Schenectady’s Statue of Liberty replica back at former home
The Statue of Liberty replica in Schenectady is back in its old home at Liberty Park.
The statue was relocated to the intersection of Erie Boulevard and Union Street four years ago.
The statue was removed from the park, now known as Gateway Plaza Park, in 2017 while the space was renovated.
It was moved to Erie Boulevard two years later.
The city council passed a resolution in 2021 urging the mayor to move the statue back to Gateway Plaza Park.
