Schodack ‘Yellowstone’ fan loses $70k in online scam
A Schodack woman’s infatuation with a mega movie star has cost her half of her life’s savings.
Over the course of the last several months, the woman – whose identity is being withheld at her request – sent scammers thousands of dollars believing the money would land her a role in the hit TV series “Yellowstone,” along with a new home purchased for her by who she believed was Cole Hauser – one of the series’ stars.
A conversation began on Facebook messenger. Where the woman was urged to send some money, which she did, after being barraged with “sweet nothings.”
The woman seemed convinced that Costner bought her a new home in California.
In total, the woman forked over $70,000 – that’s roughly half of her life savings – to the scammers.
