Schoharie County woman struck by car, died in accident in Vermont

Vermont State Police say that 74-year-old Constance J. Vrooman from Sharon Springs, New York has died after being struck by a vehicle in Marlboro, Vermont.

Officials say on Saturday around 11 a.m., the Westminster Barracks received multiple 911 calls regarding a pedestrian that had been struck by a motor vehicle on VT-9 in Marlboro, in the area of Hogback Mountain Scenic Overlook.

They tell us Troopers responded to the scene, along with Deerfield Valley Rescue and Marlboro Fire Department.

State Police say Vrooman was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, and the incident remains under investigation.
