One of the men from Utica involved in a downtown Saratoga Springs fight that ended in a shootout pleaded guilty on Tuesday.

Christopher Castillo pleaded guilty to misdemeanor attempted assault. He was ordered to pay a $175 fine and $75 in surcharges by Saratoga Springs City Court Judge Jeffrey Wait.

Castillo is one of three men from Utica accused of punching Vito Caselnova from Glens Falls on Broadway on Nov. 20, 2022.

That altercation ended in gunfire and three people with gunshot wounds.

His friend, Darius Wright, also pleaded guilty this month and was ordered to pay $250.

Their friend, Alex Colon, is the only one of the three Utica men whose case hasn’t been decided. Colon was scheduled to be in court on Tuesday, but he requested a postponement.

Surveillance video shows Colon firing shots, but the district attorney also charged him with misdemeanor attempted assault.

Meanwhile, the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office is appealing a decision dismissing the attempted murder indictment against Caselnova.
