A second person has been indicted in connection with a murder earlier this month in Cohoes.

13Investigates got a copy of the indictment on Thursday, and what’s interesting about the documents is what we can’t see.

It’s believed the redacted part of the indictment papers is the name of a second suspect.

Dontie Mitchell – the first suspect – is listed on the papers. He was arraigned on four charges in court Wednesday morning, including second-degree murder for the Cohoes homicide.

The other person has five charges against them, also including second-degree murder.

This other suspect is important because Cohoes Police previously told NewsChannel 13 there were multiple people shooting multiple guns the night Shieer Leggett was shot twice and killed, after an argument broke out at the intersection of Main and Schuyler streets in Cohoes.

More arrests are expected, police said.

13Investigates went to the Cohoes Police Station to try and get more answers, but the chief was not available. The chief’s assistant told NewsChannel 13 she was unaware if a second arrest has been made.

We also called the Albany County District Attorney’s Office. The communications director told us there is no new information in the case, but the indictment papers clearly say differently.

13Investigates will continue to try and get new details on this case, and find out who the other person charged could be. We will keep you updated on WNYT.com and our later newscasts.
