Senator Gillibrand announces funds for healthcare

Senator Gillibrand announced more than $130 million in federal funding that’s coming to the state.

The money will support medical staff, mental health programs, pandemic preparedness, and research for tick-borne diseases.

Hudson Mohawk Health Education centers in Latham will be directly benefiting from the $47 million that’s coming from this funding boost.

She also announced that $50 million of that money will be used to support public health jobs and infrastructure in New York and across the country.

This builds on her health force legislation to recruit, train, and employ Americans to build public health capacity in underserved areas.
