Senator Kirsten Gillibrand will announce new legislation on Wednesday to prevent New Yorkers from losing access to childcare.

This legislation is being proposed so that providers can avoid a massive drop off in resources for families, Senator Gillibrand said.

This comes as federal funding is set to expire at the end of the month for many childcare providers.

That money from the government has been used to help childcare providers pay their rent and their employees. Without it, an estimated 250,000 children in New York would lose access to care.
