The Shalom Food Pantry is hosting the Battle of the Barbecues for the seventh year.

It is a fun event for families and helps raise awareness of food security while recognizing the pantry’s work.

The event helps support the pantry’s mission of providing healthy food packages for Albany families and individuals struggling financially.

With an attendance of over 400 people, eight teams will compete for the title of ‘Ultimate Barbecue Champion’.

The event is from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Albany Jewish Community Center, where you can try Kosher steak and chicken wings.
