Siena professor: Age for both presidential candidates could be concerning

November’s presidential match-up will likely not only a rematch of 2020, it features the two oldest presidential candidates in American history.

November’s presidential matchup will likely not only a rematch of 2020, it features the two oldest presidential candidates in American history.

President Joe Biden’s current age is 81. He would be 82 at inauguration in January 2025. He would be 86 at the end of a second term.

Former President Donald Trump is currently 77 years old. He’d be 78 on inauguration day, and 82 at the end of a second term.

“Regardless of advances that we’ve made in healthcare, late 70s and 80s does seem to be a bit of a breaking point for Americans. Sixties or early 70s, I think people are still feeling fairly comfortable with, but by the time we get to 80, it does seem to be raising more and more concerns,” explained Dr. Kevin Baron, a political science professor at Siena College.
