A South Carolina man has admitted to a fatal shooting in Cohoes last August.
Nalik Sealy, 26, pleaded guilty in Albany County Court on Friday to second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the death of Shieer Leggett.
Sealey is accused of firing a gun during a fight on 125 Main St. just after 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 11.
Anti-violence activist Dontie Mitchell was the first person arrested in the case. He was initially charged with murder, but Judge Andra Ackerman dismissed that count because there wasn’t sufficient evidence to prove Leggett acted together with another person to cause Leggett’s death. He was since reindicted on attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
Sealy will be sentenced at a later date.
