The Spectrum 8 Theatre will be showing movies for the last time on Thursday.

The theater on Delaware Avenue is closing its doors at the end of the month.

It opened in 1983 and has been operated by Landmark Theatres since 2015.

Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan said she is confident the closure will be temporary. Sheehan is in contact with representatives from one of the prospective parties interested in operating the theater.
