St. Peter’s Health Partners merging with Syracuse health system

St. Peter’s Health Partners is merging with St. Joseph’s Health in Syracuse.
Trinity Health, which owns both hospital systems, made the announcement, saying it’s consolidating them into a single regional operation.
In a letter to employees, it says the negative impact and lasting effects are much greater than anyone imagined.
Trinity does not say if the merger will result in job cuts.
The change takes effect July 1.
