State funding helps Amsterdam upgrade firetruck

The Amsterdam Fire Department is getting a serious upgrade after securing significant state funding.

Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara announced he obtained funding for the fire department that went towards the purchasing of a brand new firetruck.

Frequent breakdowns of an old truck caused the department to seek a newer model.

Following Santabarbara’s announcement, firefighters will be demonstrating the new capabilities of this truck.
