State health commissioner gets flu, COVID shots

New York State Health Commissioner Dr. James McDonald received the flu and COVID-19 vaccines in Albany on Wednesday morning.

Flu season has begun in the Capital Region.

The flu, RSV and COVID-19 are contagious.

People with chronic conditions have a higher risk of developing serious complications.

Flu season usually runs through May, and typically peaks between December and February.
