State legislature passes bill banning non compete clauses

The New York State Assembly has passed legislation, which would ban non-compete agreements.

That means the legislation has now passed both houses – and will go to Governor Kathy Hochul’s office for her signature.
The legislation would ensure that New Yorkers will not be prevented from pursuing other employment opportunities because of restrictions imposed by their current employer.
