State Police investigating fatal fire in Long Lake

State Police are investigating a fatal fire that occurred in the town of Long Lake.

Troopers responded to Kickerville Lane in the Hamilton County town on Monday at about 4:30 a.m. for a report of a structure fire.

Firefighters found a person deceased in the residence, said State Police on Tuesday. A positive identification of the resident is still pending.

State Police are working in conjunction with New York State Fire investigators to determine the cause and origin of the fire.

The Long Lake, Newcomb and Indian Lake fire departments as well as the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department and Hamilton County corner assisted at the scene.

The investigating is ongoing.
