State Police issue over 12,000 tickets during holiday enforcement period

New York State Police issued 12,171 tickets statewide over the Thanksgiving holiday period.

Troopers arrested 178 people for DWI and investigated 765 crashes – none of them fatal – during the period from the Wednesday before Thanksgiving through Sunday. 

In Troop G, which covers the immediate Capital Region, there were 11 arrests for DWI, 214 speeding tickets, 125 for distracted driving, 105 for seat belt violations and nine violations of the Move Over Law.

There were also separate tickets issued in the troops that serve the outskirts of our area.
