State police are investigating the Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers headquarters in Albany. The labor union represents nearly 1,000 active and retired state troopers.

State police investigators executed a search warrant Tuesday afternoon at the State Street building, the Times Union reported.

The State Police Special Investigation Unit also raided a nearby office, the paper reported. This office is where the Signal 30 Benefit Fund is located. It has raised millions of dollars for charity, benefiting police and their families.

The paper reported the labor union has had multiple allegations of questionable financial and hiring practices.

NewsChannel 13 has reached out to state police and the Police Benevolent Association.
